Very Silly Songs!

Very Silly Songs!

Release Date:

January 28,1997

Rating:

Medi-okra

Review:

Pros:

The show opens directly to the counter top and we don't have to wait through the theme song.

It starts off very silly with Larry introducing the show as a work out video.

Larry's opener quickly goes awry and Bob has to intervene.

The french peas are back helping to run the show but they quickly lose control as well.

Larry continues the running gag of him not getting what kind of show this is and starts doing home improvement on the sink which quickly gets out of hand.

The controversial Bunny Song is included on this show and is given its own introduction by Bob and the French Peas explaining that this version is "new and improved" which is funny.

Larry continues to not understand what's going up through the end of the show and attempts to do a show about real estate and Bob has to set him straight.

Even though this is not regular show, they still introduce a fully new Silly Song with Larry at the end, and this song went on to become one of the most popular Silly Songs in veggie history... even leading to its own movie based on its theme.

Cons:

The genre of this episode is a bit dated, since sing along videos are somewhat obsolete having been replaced by other media forms.

After skipping the theme song in the beginning, we still end up having to watch it a few minutes into the show anyway... albeit a slightly shorter version that nixes the blank screen introductory talking.

"The Chocolate Factory" song does not appear in this video.

"Big Things, Too" does not appear in this video

There is very little new material in this show, though what new material does exist is quite good.
